Magnet size

The spinning discs that hold the magnets, and magnet issues

Magnet size

Hi

I`ve got some horrifying quotes back from suppliers, here and abroad, on a magnet that I had designed.
It forced me to rethink my strategy and look at different magnets again. Will it work if one sticks two identical magnets (say 1/4 inch thick) on top of each other before placing them on the rotor disc? If a rotor is made up in this way will the magnetic field be any different from a rotor that is made up from a single layer of the same-size but 1/2 inch thick magnets?

Stacking two magnets should theoretically be identical to a magnet twice the thickness. Only reason I can think of why this won't be true is if the magnets are coated, or uneven, and so do not sit snugly together.

Thanx Windgat

I am still weighing all my options, as far as magnet selection is concerned. Please have a look at my last post under "Getting discount on magnets".

Eagerly awaiting your reply.
